Responsibilities of QEC

  • Quality Assurance Policies and Procedures: Develop, review, and update quality assurance policies and procedures in line with national and international standards. Ensure that these policies are communicated effectively to all stakeholders.
  • Accreditation: Facilitate the accreditation process for academic programs, ensuring compliance with the standards set by accrediting bodies. Prepare documentation and reports required for accreditation purposes.
  • Internal and External Audits: Conduct regular internal audits and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of academic processes. Collaborate with external bodies for periodic external audits and reviews.
  • Program Reviews: Conduct comprehensive reviews of academic programs to assess their relevance, effectiveness, and alignment with industry needs. Recommend improvements based on review outcomes.
  • Faculty Development: Organize workshops, training sessions, and professional development programs for faculty and staff to enhance teaching and research skills. Encourage faculty members to pursue advanced degrees and certifications.
  • Student Feedback and Assessment: Establish mechanisms for collecting feedback from students regarding the quality of education. Monitor and evaluate assessment methods to ensure fairness and effectiveness.
  • Curriculum Development: Participate in the design and development of curriculum, ensuring that it aligns with industry trends and accreditation requirements. Periodically review and update curricular content.
  • Research and Publications: Engage in research activities related to educational best practices, teaching methodologies, and quality enhancement. Encourage and support faculty and students in research endeavors.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with relevant internal departments and external stakeholders, including accrediting bodies, regulatory authorities, and industry partners. Establish partnerships with other educational institutions for knowledge sharing and benchmarking.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive records of quality assurance activities, audits, and assessments. Prepare regular reports summarizing the outcomes of quality assurance processes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the institution. Implement recommendations and corrective actions to address identified areas for improvement.
  • Benchmarking: Conduct benchmarking exercises against other institutions to identify areas where the institution can improve and excel.
  • Training and Workshops: Conduct training sessions and workshops for faculty, staff, and students on quality assurance principles and practices.
